Back with a Bite! With another year over and a new one just begun, we’re considering culinary resolutions and the ways in which eating well can fill your plate with fun, joy and adventure in 2024. | | | | Realistic Resolutions For many people, January has come to mean less; less fun, less excitement and less of the food and drink you enjoy most. But at Fortnum’s, we say that abstaining from things that bring you joy is no way to live. In fact, enjoying a little of what you fancy is essential to your overall wellbeing.
So, instead of a January devoid of flavour, we're here to encourage you to enjoy more; more fresh produce, more new recipes, more locally grown fruit and veg and responsibly-sourced food.
Here are five manageable changes to consider in 2024... | | | | 1. Prioritise deliciousness, whenever possible: no more bland biscuits, mediocre meals or flavourless grazing, plenty more bold flavours and ingredients.
2. Cook with joy! Making a meal, at home and from scratch, is often healthier, tastes better and can give you a real sense of achievement.
3. Go fresh, when you can: look for artisan cheeses, handmade bread, locally sourced meat and the freshest seasonal fruit and veg you can find.
4. A love of food is one of life’s greatest pleasures and certainly not something you should ever feel bad about. Eat more, eat better and most importantly eat with intent.
5. Hectic schedules can make it difficult to stray from the familiarity of dishes you know well, but the excitement of a new cookbook or trying a different cuisine can be incredibly motivating. | | | |
