3 easy hacks to make SURE your Christmas tree lasts until New Years

Did you get your Christmas tree last weekend?

You weren't alone!

The 1st Saturday in December is the most popular day for Christmas tree shopping each year.

But now that you have it home, the challenge becomes keeping your tree ALIVE and thriving until after the big day.

1. Your tree needs (lots of) water 💦

Keep the bottom 2 inches of the trunk immersed in water at ALL times. Christmas trees are thirsty, so you may need to check twice a day to make sure your Fraser Fir isn't living in its own personal desert.

2. Keep it cool inside ❄️

Christmas trees love cold temperatures. (Remember the weather outside when you got it? Brrrrrrr 🥶) If possible, keep your tree away from air vents that are heating the rest of your home. And as pretty as your decorated tree may look next to your fireplace, keep your pine-needle-maker AWAY from the flames.

3. Update your decorative lights 🎄

Older light bulbs produce heat, which, as we just learned, Christmas trees HATE! To keep your tree fresh until after the 25th, you'll want to use the new school LED holiday lights. They produce almost no heat AND never burn out!

With proper care, and these easy hacks, a typical evergreen tree should last 4-5 weeks.
