Choose the right plant for your space and level of experience. Not all plants thrive indoors, and some require more attention than others. 2. Use well-draining soil and pots with drainage holes. This will prevent the soil from becoming waterlogged, which can lead to root rot. If you bought a pot that doesnât have holes, no problem! Use any standard drill to add a few to the bottom of the pot.
3. Use filtered or distilled water to avoid chlorine and other chemicals that can harm your plants and monitor the temperature and humidity levels in your home. Most indoor plants prefer temperatures between 60-75°F and humidity levels between 40-60%.
4. Provide adequate light for your plants. Most indoor plants require bright, indirect light to thrive. If your home doesn't get a lot of natural light, consider using artificial grow lights.
5. Keep your plants clean. Very few people do this! Dust can accumulate on leaves and block sunlight, so wipe them down regularly with a damp cloth.
